Safety & Compliance

Navigating the safety and compliance aspects of a property is complicated but important when owning real estate. DI has worked in the San Francisco and San Diego areas for years and is intimately familiar with all regulations; local, state, and federal. As experts in the field we have created a full point life safety and compliance inspection and accompanying report. In this report we will note any deficiencies we find, provide descriptions and pictures, and include the estimated cost to resolve any issues. The following are some of the items we check for in these inspections:

  • Smoke and CO Detectors
  • Electrical and Gas Lines
  • Dry Rot and Termite Damage
  • Proper Egress
  • Fire Systems & Sprinklers
  • Balconies & Decks
  • Seismic
  • Section 604 Repairs

The most common cause of earthquake related fires in Southern California is broken gas lines. In order to mitigate this type of threat to your property, DI installs earthquake shut off valves that automatically stop the flow of gas into a building when triggered by an earthquake of magnitude 5.0 or greater. This helps prevent fires on your property and lessens the possibility of further damage and liability.
